Synopsis:
In a contemporary re-imagining of the classic tale, Jack Black stars as Gulliver, a big-talking mailroom clerk who, after he’s mistakenly assigned a travel piece on the Bermuda Triangle, suddenly finds himself a giant among men when he washes ashore on the hidden island of Lilliput, home to a population of very tiny people. At first enslaved by the diminutive and industrious Liliputians, and later declared their hero, Gulliver comes to learn that it’s how big you are on the inside that counts.

So that was fun. Part of me wants to pretend that trailer wasn't as bad as it was just because I like some of the pieces involved, but barring a red band trailer that features a drunk Hasselhoff eating cheeseburgers or a killer new Billy Ocean theme song I think I'm going to have to pass. What's that you say?  It's in 3D?  I'm in.  *fart sound*

The Adjustment Bureau

Release Date:

Director:
George Nolfi
Cast:
Matt Damon
Cast:
Emily Blunt
Synopsis:
On the brink of winning a seat in the U.S. Senate, ambitious politician David Norris meets beautiful contemporary ballet dancer Elise Sellas -- a woman like none he's ever known. But just as he realizes he's falling for her, mysterious men conspire to keep the two apart. David learns he is up against the agents of Fate itself -- the men of The Adjustment Bureau -- who will do everything in their considerable power to prevent David and Elise from being together. In the face of overwhelming odds, he must either let her go and accept a predetermined path... or risk everything to defy Fate and be with her.

The Adjustment Bureau will mark George Nolfi's directorial debut, and is based on a Phillip K. Dick short story called The Adjustment Team. The trailer got me all sorts of excited but I'm a sucker for movies that look original and interesting with talented people involved. I'd also pay good money to see the plan for my life, I'm guessing it has more circles than straight lines.

Release Date:
Feb 10 2010
Director:
Joe Johnston
Cast:
Benicio Del Toro
Cast:
Anthony Hopkins
Cast:
Emily Blunt
Cast:
Hugo Weaving
Synopsis:
Lawrence Talbot is a haunted nobleman lured back to his family estate after his brother vanishes. Reunited with his estranged father, Talbot sets out to find his brother...and discovers a horrifying destiny for himself.

The cast is pretty amazing, and director Johnston worked visual effects for the original Star Wars films, as well as Raiders of the Lost Ark, so he is no stranger to awesomeness. I even sort of the dig the trailer. But for some reason I'm having trouble getting too excited about the film. What are your thoughts on The Wolfman?
