Will Ferrell Joins Zach Galifianakis Between Two Ferns With Some Hamm

It's been a while since we've had a new Between Two Ferns but then again it's been a while since Zach Galifianakis had something to promote. This weekend sees the release of The Hangover 2 and with summer inching closer Speed Stick clearly wants to get some buzz going, enter buzz maven fellow actor needing to promote a movie Will Ferrell. Aside from the former Saturday Night Live star's atrocious choice of athletic apparel, he makes a pretty good guest even going so far as to get his own sponsor a shout out. In the meantime John Hamm comes in to look for his car keys that he left there a couple of years ago. So yeah, more of the same goodness you've come to expect when a bearded man interviews a guest in the midst of vascular plants of the Pteridophyta family.

Also if you can't get the fat out of your ears and listen, then why am I here?

Sucker Punch

Quite a bit to take in but it definitely looks very Zack Snyder-y. This is the first original film from the director of Watchmen and 300 and although it looks like bizarre might rule the day, that might not be a bad thing as dragons and ninja swords are always promising. I just know I'm going to get a headache if they don't slow down some of the cuts in the trailer. It almost makes me long for the days of dial up modems.

Synopsis:
“Sucker Punch” is an epic action fantasy that takes us into the vivid imagination of a young girl whose dream world provides the ultimate escape from her darker reality. Unrestrained by the boundaries of time and place, she is free to go where her mind takes her, but her incredible adventures blur the lines between what’s real and what is imaginary…with potentially tragic consequences.

The Town

I have two problems with this trailer and then the gushing will begin. First off "the studio that brought you the departed"? Don't remind me I've seen this movie before, at least let me choose my memories. Secondly the last third of the trailer seems to give away quite a bit of what happens, although the writing was on the wall for anyone paying attention.

Now, for the other stuff, this movie looks awesome. Skeletor masks, check; hot chicks, check; explosions, check; Jeremy Renner looking like a badass, check; Don Draper being someone else, check. It really is like the perfect storm of awesome, like The Expendables for guys that don't like going to the gym. Affleck's directorial debut Gone Baby Gone was fantastic and it seems like he's upped the ante a bit here with his sophomore effort. What are your thoughts on The Town?

Synopsis:
Doug MacRay (Ben Affleck) is an unrepentant criminal, the de facto leader of a group of ruthless bank robbers who pride themselves in stealing what they want and getting out clean. With no real attachments, Doug never has to fear losing anyone close to him. But that all changed on the gang's latest job, when they briefly took a hostage--bank manager, Claire Keesey (Rebecca Hall). Though they let her go unharmed, Claire is nervously aware that the robbers know her name... and where she lives. But she lets her guard down when she meets an unassuming and rather charming man named Doug....not realizing that he is the same man who only days earlier had terrorized her. The instant attraction between them gradually turns into a passionate romance that threatens to take them both down a dangerous, and potentially deadly, path.

I Sort Of Want The SNL Sax-Man Curse

For some reason the latest SNL Digital Short is killing me.  Big timer Andy Samberg gets cursed after breaking some of Fred Armisen's stuff.  The curse is the kind of curse you dream about.  I'd love to see someone prank someone in real life by reenacting this.  Or just if there was a guy on Craigslist I could hire to do this at my beckon call.  Really?  There already is?  Good times.

Jon Hamm , Rebecca Hall Sign On For Ben Affleck's Town

I'm pretty sure Ben Affleck was born to be a director. I've never met the guy or anything but he just seems like his skillset is best served behind the camera. Don't get me wrong, I don't think Affleck is a horrible actor or anything, I just would have a hard time calling him great. My favorite appearances by him, aside from the incendiary [amazon 0788814664], are when he tries to bring the funny, and that's usually associated with a Kevin Smith movie. All that being said, Affleck's directorial debut Gone Baby Gone was really good. I'm very excited to see where he goes from there, and now we have some details.

Jon Hamm and Rebecca Hall are starring opposite Ben Affleck in "The Town," Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures' romantic crime thriller that Affleck also is directing. Graham King is producing.

An adaptation of the Chuck Hogan novel "Prince of Thieves," the story follows the relationship between a bank manager, the career criminal (Affleck) who stole more than her heart and the dedicated FBI agent trying to bust the crook and his gang.

Hamm is playing the FBI agent. Hall is the reason the criminal wants to clean up his act but also is the agent's golden ticket to catching the man.

Sounds interesting enough. As one would expect, the film is to be shot in Affleck's beloved Boston this September after Hamm finishes shooting Season 3 of Mad Men.
