Dr. Dog Kick It At The Roller Rink In New Shadow People Video

Earlier today the fine folks over at Stereogum debuted the latest video from SHA favorites Dr. Dog. The Ted Passon directed video for "Shadow People" off of their incredibly awesome album Shame, Shame sees the band head over to Holiday Skating Center where they perform in the midst of the roller rink as the regulars strut their stuff on wheels. Then someone breaks out some sparklers and everyone has a good time. The Philadelphia natives have a few random September gigs remaining before heading out on another nationwide tour in October. Watch Dr. Dog In Studio On Morning Becomes Eclectic

If you are following SHA on the twitter you are a good person and a snappy dresser, and you may have also caught me mention that Dr. Dog was appearing on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic yesterday. Well I wasn't lying, it's true, and now we have some awesome video to prove it. Hooray interwebs.

The band blasts through some of their incredibly awesome new album Shame, Shame. As per usual you also get some interview action if you're into that sort of thing. Seriously though, "Where'd All The Time Go" is the jam right?

Dr. Dog Stop In For A Daytrotter Session

If you are starting to feel like this site is really just a front for a Dr. Dog fanclub, I wouldn't suggest that you are incorrect per se, but I would redirect you to the name of said front, and how Dr. Dog remains fully applicable to said name.  That being said this is one of the last pieces of album release hoopla I was waiting for, a glorious visit to the awesome that is Daytrotter.

Scott McMicken, Toby Leaman, and the rest of the gang stopped in Rock Island, IL where they performed three songs off the new album as well as a reworked version of a tune off of Fate, Army Of Ancients.  The new tunes that got the Daytrotter treatment included Station, I Only Wear Blue, and Where'd All The Time Go, the latter of which I have included below to get you all excited.

You can head over to Daytrotter to listen to the entire session as well as download all the tracks for free.  Also it's a wonderful place to play around at for hours, so you should definitely check it out if you have never had the good fortune.

Dr. Dog Perform Station Acoustic Backstage At Jimmy Fallon

Little did I know that when Dr. Dog appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to perform Stranger, they also performed an acoustic tune backstage before the appearance.  The lucky tune in question would be Station, the third tune on their killer new album Shame, Shame, which received 5 out of 5 karate monkeys from Cornelius. Enjoy.

Listen To Dr. Dog On World Cafe Live Today At Noon EST

This is just a brief heads up.  You know how much we're digging on the new Dr. Dog, so it's only fair that we pass along the info that there will be a live stream of their performance on WXPN and World Cafe Live courtesy of the fine folks at NPR.  The show starts at noon EST which is actually in just a couple of minutes.  A nice start to a Friday morning for sure.

Click here to open the player, or you can head here to the official NPR page. Rock.

I think they let you download these things when they are done, if so I will try and put the link up here.

Update: No download unfortunately but you can stream the whole thing now if you want.  The whole thing lasts a little over 30 minutes and is extremely Shame, Shame heavy.  Although you do get some Fate.

Dr. Dog Bring A Rocking Stranger To Fallon

The day of Shame Shame's release was pretty busy for the Dr. Dog fellas.  Aside from a performance at the Apple Store in New York they also made a little pit stop at Late Night with Jimmy Fallon where the guys put on a rocking performance of the new album's opening track Stranger.  If you haven't checked out the album yet you might want to read Cornelius' review from yesterday, in which he gave the record five out of five karate monkeys.  Pretty impressive.   [via the audio perv]

Dr. Dog: Shame, Shame

Release Date:
Tuesday, April 6, 2010

I don't even know where to start with this beauty.  I guess first things first I should get the gushing out of the way.  This album kicks the ass.  Top to bottom, start to finish, whatever you want.  I'm sure if you played this thing backwards unicorns would fly out of the speakers or something.  But you aren't just here to find out how to make unicorns, so let's get started. Of course we'll be using the favored SHA format, bullets.

Stream The Incredibly Awesome New Dr. Dog Album Shame, Shame

It's the start of the week and with that comes a new album stream from the fine folks over at NPR.  Fortunately for all of us this week is no ordinary week as the album we get to stream is the newest from Philadelphia's own Dr. Dog.  Of course we have already had a bit of a sampling of the album with Stranger and Shadow People, but now we get the whole bundle of happy good times.   Make no mistake about it, I'm as bias as it gets when it comes to this album, so take all of my glowing giddyness and do with it what you will.  Just make sure the what you will entails you listening to their kickass new album Shame, Shame.  Of course you should also buy the album when it officially comes out next week, April 6th.

Hell this one is so good NPR even let it be embeddable again.  Hooray America!  Quite a start to the week.  Dr. Dog is touring everywhere, check them out.  Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.
