Satchel Returns With Heartache & Honey

Shawn Smith is one of my all time favorite music anythings.  I've followed him pretty obsessively over the years and have always wondered why he doesn't play sold out theaters every night.  Hopefully that is about to happen as 2010 will see the return of the Seattle based band Satchel.

The band returns from a thirteen year hiatus as a trio featuring Shawn Smith on keys and vocals, Regan Hagar on drums, and John Hoag on guitar.  The new Satchel website features some tunes from all of their past albums, and recently added the first track of their new album Heartache and Honey, The Return Of....., which you can check out below.

No official release date has been mentioned aside from an "early 2010 release", but the band does have a show scheduled for February 18th in Seattle. We'll make sure to keep you updated on the album and any subsequent dates.  Rock.

Yes, it's true. We've booked our first live show for well over a decade at The Crocodile in Seattle on Thursday the 18th February. Support comes from With Friends Like These and Stuck On A Bus (featuring the kids from the Seattle School of Rock).
