After showing "around 24 minutes" worth of Avatar at Comic Con, James Cameron ended the panel by announcing something unprecedented. According to the liveblog from the panel done by the awesome site Joblo.com
They're taking over as many IMAX 3D theaters plus selected 3D theaters on August 21 and let a global audience come to see 15 minutes of AVATAR for free!
AVATAR Day they're calling it. They'll also release the video game trailer and the toys.
Everything I've read indicates Avatar is going to change the future of film. Pretty lofty stuff. I'm very excited, and will definitely be heading to an IMAX theater on August 21.
