Russel Crowe's Robin Hood Not In Tights

Universal Pictures has released it's first image of Maximus Andronicus in his Robin Hood outfit. Amazingly it looks exactly as you might expect it to look! At least it's nice to know they aren't adapting it to modern times so he's not wearing a flat-billed Yankees hat with a New Era sticker and a Lebron James jersey. Although I bet that movie would make hello dollar bills y'all. Sickass bro.

The USA article has this quote from Brian Grazer but either I lost my eyesight in the first World War trying to save a little girl's diary, or Brian Grazer is getting his blockbusters confused.

"He doesn't have the old Robin Hood tights," says producer Brian Grazer. "He's got armor. He's very medieval. He looks, if anything, more like he did in Gladiator than anything we're used to seeing with Robin Hood."

And if that doesn't get you excited enough, how is this?

Not that the film will linger on the contemporary. "We just shot a scene where Maid Marion fires a flaming bow and arrow into the night sky. It's just a cool story."

A flaming bow and arrow into the night sky! No way, that sounds so contemporary. She even managed to fire a bow. Even with these nonsense quotes I am still pretty excited for anything Robin Hood with capable people involved. I just wish Cary Elwes was the star.
