The Hangout Beach Festival Lineup Is Here!

Music on the beach is one of the many under utilized tools in our insanely over-saturated society, luckily The Hangout Beach Music and Arts Festival is trying to take care of that.  Set to take place from May 14-16, the inaugural event will take place directly on the white beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama".  There are expected to be more than 60 artists taking part with four stages including "two main stages rising from the sand itself."

Tickets for the 3 day festival are $159 and are available now over at the official site.  The initial lineup is below and features my favorite Chuck Norris lookalike.  Awesome.

UPDATE:  Apparently our info was wrong, somehow Bassnectar snuck in there and is not confirmed for the festival at this time.  Apologies.  Still sounds awesome though right?

Brett Dennen: Hope For The Hopeless

Album:
Hope For The Hopeless
Band:
Brett Dennen
Release Date:
Oct 21 2008

I forget where I first heard about Brett Dennen, but I knew I wanted to check out some of his set at Rothbury because I remembered hearing something good. My memory is pretty worthless. As it turned out the only time I was able to make for his Rothbury set was a quick walkthrough on our way back to camp in order to have some drinks to get back in time for something else. Luckily the walk was long and what I heard was enough to proclaim that he sounded a little like Ryan Adams and that I would definitely check out his stuff when I got back. I have fallen in love with his last album So Much More so I was pretty excited when his newest album Hope for the Hopeless hit stores on Oct 21. Let's get to the review:
