Bonnaroo 2011 Lineup Is Here! Eminem, Arcade Fire, MMJ Oh My

The lineup for the tenth anniversary of North America's most celebrated festival is here. Headlining the action at this year's Bonnaroo which will take place June 9th-12th in Manchester, Tennessee, will be Eminem, recent Grammy award winners Arcade Fire, Widespread Panic, Buffalo Springfield, My Morning Jacket and The Black Keys. Other big names joining in on the fun at the farm will be The Strokes, Mumford & Sons, STS9, Primus, The Decemberists and more.

As one is prone to do, there will be some celebrating of the anniversary with Dr. John and The Original Meters performing the album Desitively Bonnaroo in it's entirety, and that's not all as this year will also see the "Revenge of the Superjam" featuring Dr. John and Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys. The initial lineup is included after the jump but you can check out the announcement video below featuring everyone's favorite ginger Conan O'Brien.

Tickets for this year's festival will go on sale this Saturday at 12pm EST. What are your thoughts on this year's lineup?

Coachella 2011 Lineup Is Here!

Time to kick your hipster into overdrive as the official lineup for this year's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festial is here. Somehow the hipster ointment known as Kings Of Leon are headlining Friday night so maybe this year will feature a few less people wearing Converse than normal. Joining in on the large font on the poster are Saturday night's headliner Arcade Fire, and closing things out in an extremely self-absorbed way will be Kanye West on Sunday night, apparently with a little help from The Strokes as they too stuffed armadillos in their font trousers.

Yeah, so that's a pretty messy set of headliners, featuring two that make me physically ill. As per usual the undercard is where it's at featuring SHA favorites The Black Keys, Mumford & Sons, The Morning Benders, Chromeo, Delta Spirit, The National, Animal Collective, Tame Impala, Broken Social Scene and more. To be fair there's a bit of something for everyone although the lineup as a whole is giving me a really hollow feeling, granted that's usually the case with Coachella. What do you think about this year's lineup?

My Morning Jacket To Headline Wakarusa & Mountain Jam, Lineups Announced

Doubling up on the festival updates here as they both have the awesome common denominator of My Morning Jacket as headliners, which makes it seem like the fellas may be this year's festival whores as the big guns haven't even come out with their lineups yet. Adding to the awesome it's safe to assume that the album Jim James is co-producing with Tucker Martine should hit stores near the May estimate. Either way expect a lot of MMJ in your future.

As for the festivals let's start with Wakarusa, which will return to Mulberry Mountain in Ozark, Arkansas with or without dead birds falling from the sky. Set to take place June 2-5, the 8th edition of the festival will see the likes of Ben Harper and Relentless 7, Thievery Corporation, Sound Tribe Sector Nine, Umphrey's McGee, Mumford & Sons, Lotus and more.

As for Mountain Jam, which is essentially the Warren Haynes music festival, Michael Franti & Spearhead will join Lotus, The New Deal and MMJ on double dip duty, appearing at both Wakarusa and Mountain Jam. Haynes will be playing with both Gov't Mule as well as The Warren Haynes Band, not to mention the various sit ins he tends to take part in. Who might those sit ins be with? Possibly The Avett Brothers, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, North Mississippi All Stars, or the most likely choice 7 Walkers. The official lineup announcement video is below.

Tickets are on sale now at both the Wakarusa and Mountain Jam sites. Complete lineups available after the jump.

Mumford And Sons Go Black And White To Roll Away Your Stone

Here is the video for the latest single "Roll Away Your Stone" off of Mumford And Sons incredibly awesome album Sigh No More.  The folk rockers take the black and white route for a video the seamlessly blends a studio performance with a live performance by matching the songs energetic chorus with the crowd while handling the subdued verses in the studio. A gimmick for sure, but a nice one at that.  The fellas are in the midst of a tour that will see them at this weekend's Sasquatch festival prior to heading down the west coast before heading back across the states so they can make it to their gig at Bonnaroo. Mumford And Sons Bring Little Lion Man To Letterman

I've been obsessing over the new Mumford and Sons album [amazon B0032Y8XH8] for the last few weeks.  Somehow I missed this yesterday but they appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman on Wednesday night and performed my favorite track off the album Little Lion Man.  The band played NYC last night, but the rest of their calendar appears to be rocking their socks off in Europe for a while.  Fortunately those brave souls heading to that thing they call Bonnaroo will be able to catch the band there, along with a couple of other acts.
