Outside Lands 2010 Lineup Is Here!

Via an unbelievably lame video that was presumably the main hold up in releasing the lineup, Outside Lands has announced the acts that will be descending on Golden Gate Park August 14th and 15th. Not too many big surprises from what has been expected aside from The Strokes being one of the bigger acts.  Sadly the highly rumored Arcade Fire won't be making an appearance but I'm sure they'll be coming to a town near you soon enough. We'll update this post with more info as it comes but for now you can check out the lineup video below.

Tickets go on sale tomorrow starting at $75, with two day passes starting at $125.  You can grab them through Ticketmaster and if you click on this fancy link here you'll be supporting Super Hella Awesome at no charge to yourself.  In a way that's how you stick it to the man ... with awesome.

Also Garage A Trois!  Partay!  Did someone say Duo night show?

Update: I added the day by day image above. Hard to argue that Sunday is incredibly strong, but Phoenix, Garage A Trois, and Chromeo should make up for the rest.

Furthur Headlining Outside Lands Gets Us To Analyze The Lineup Clues

The latest issue of Rolling Stone lists Furthur as one of the headliners for this year's Outside Lands festival. In honor of the awesomeness that is that news let's give you a rundown of Ranger Dave's clues and our subsequent guesses to the artists. The full lineup will be announced on Tuesday June 1 via video on www.sfweekly.com at 9am PST and will hit the OSL website at 11am.  For now let's get down to wild (mildly researched) guessing, in bold of course.

Watch Phoenix Play A Tiny Desk Concert For NPR

If you have the best job in the world it's still pretty unlikely that French rockers Phoenix stop in and play small acoustic gigs there. Sure the Super Hella Awesome offices have midgets dressed like Teen Wolf deliver lunch daily, and there's the special Danzathons every Thursday, but it's a modest place. The closest thing we've had to a Phoenix concert is that one time Cornelius took three shots of tequila when he woke up and tried to learn Lisztomania on xylophone.

Well some lucky folks over at NPR are exactly the kind of people that have amazing bands like Phoenix play acoustic sets in their office as part of their Tiny Desk Concert series.  Four song eleven minute sets to be exact. It's always fun when the acoustic versions sound equally great in their own right. Enjoy.   [via pitchfork]
