Las Tortugas Dance Of The Dead V Lineup Is Here

The lineup for the fifth annual Las Tortugas Dance of the Dead festival has just been announced. Once again set to take place over Halloween weekend Oct 28-31 at the Evergreen Lodge in Yosemite, CA, this year's event features a whole bunch of familiar faces as ALO returns as headliners along with 7 Walkers feat Bill Kreutzman, Papa Mali and George Porter Jr. as well as The Mother Hips, and more. As per usual the Tea Leaf Green crew will make their mark with a Trevor Garrard solo show along with Josh Clark's Guitarmageddon doing the music of Prince in addition to a full band show. Partay.

The main jist of ticketing is that the festival will go on sale next Wednesday, but there are some more details worth mentioning that the official copy covers well so let's do some pasting!

Super early bird ticket sales--$175 for a festival pass until August 15-- will be available on Wednesday July 21 at 10am PST. Please call the Lodge at 209/379-2606, for on-site camping at 10am PST on July 21st.

Each year, the cabins at Evergreen Lodge sell out quickly. This year, in order to give everyone a chance to reserve a cabin, we are instituting a random cabin drawing. To enter the drawing you must email tortugascabin@gmail.com no later than Saturday, July 17, by 2pm PST. Please click here for additional instructions on the Tortugas V cabin drawing and what you need to include in that email.

High Sierra Lineup Additions, There's An Act For That

See video

The High Sierra Music Festival announced their initial lineup shortly after the much publicized iPad announcement.  You may remember the clever little iPad parody video they used for that announcement.  Well it seems like the people with High Sierra are really getting a kick out of it because they essentially used the same bit for their first batch of lineup additions.  There's an act for that!

The latest additions were teased last Friday with a youtube clip of Willie Nelson and Ray Charles doing Georgia On My Mind.  Fitting then that Widespread Panic and The Black Crowes lead the list of additions.

Widespread Panic
The Black Crowes
Lotus
Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros
The Mother Hips
Jerry Joseph & The Jackmormons
The Radiators
The Pimps of Joytime

Chris Chandler & Paul Benoit
Living Folklore

These bands will be joining Super Hella Awesome favorites The Avett Brothers, Dr. Dog, The Slip, Surprise Me Mr Davis and many more.  For the complete lineup visit the official site.
