The New Deal

Festival Updates: Outside Lands Dates, Nateva Lineup

We've been a little behind the ball the last few weeks as we've had some backend issues that would make one of Charlie Sheen's goddesses uncomfortable. That being said the world is still rocking it's way along without worrying about the poor little website that is being left behind. Good thing I've been sticking to the Cheetah blood instead of Tiger because now I can run really fast and catch up. Or just make a post with multiple stories. Yeah, let's do that, I hate running.

First things first we have the exemplary news that Outside Lands will return to three days as opposed to last year's mess of a two day festival. This will of course once again return to Golden Gate Park, although there is no word yet on if they will keep the other horrible adjustment from last year with the rearranged stages. The good times are set to go down August 12th-14th and amazingly the only rumor I have heard includes Misters Anastasio, McConnell, Fishman and Gordon. Again, rumor.

As for things that aren't rumor how about the second annual Nateva Festival's initial lineup? It's really meh and no longer takes place over the 4th of July but hey, whatever floats your boat. Headlining this year's festivities will be Thievery Corporation, STS9, The Gregg Allman Band as well as a solo set from Bob Weir. Joining in on the fun in Oxford, Maine will be Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes, Keller Williams, John Butler Trio, The McLovins and The New Deal. This year's party will occur from August 4-7 and tickets are on sale now over at the official website.

Caribbean Holidaze Schedule Is Here!

As we've stated before, Caribbean Holidaze is the best festival in the universe. You can put your feet in the water and be 60 feet from the stage, which also happens to be on the sand. This year they seem to be really packing in the music, with daily sets at Breeze's as well as sunset at Hedo, along with the typical nightime shenannigans. Any fan of the 80's should especially enjoy this year's event with the 80's fueled Omega Moos and the ultra smooth sounds of Yacht Rock.

Rooms are still available over at www.caribbeanholidaze.com . Go get one. It's going to be awesome.

Caribbean Holidaze 09 Full Lineup Announced

The full lineup for the 3rd Caribbean Holidaze has been announced. And from what I can tell it reeks of the awesomeness.

* 3 Disco Biscuits shows
* 3 Umphrey's McGee shows
* 2 shows by the New Deal
* 2 shows by Perpetual Groove
* 2 shows of Lipp Service "Eliot Lipp & Members of Pnuma"
* 1 Yacht Rock show
* 1 Omega Moos show
* 2 shows by Michael G from Easy Star info
* 1 Dan Lebowitz solo show
* 1 Brock Butler solo show
* Late nights in the Disco with D-BO, DrFameus and others!

The Holidaze will be taking place from Dec 10-14 2009 in Runaway Bay, Jamaica. It is clearly the best festival in the universe and even better than you expect. Pre-booking takes place up until April 1 and requires a somewhat refundable deposit of $500 for a room. The one difference I am sensing from past year's is even more music. Awesome.

Here is a video from last year that was made by Jeremy Sewell. Gives you a bit of an idea of what you could be dealing with if you decided you wanted to have a lot of fun in Jamaica in December.
