The White Stripes

Stream The White Stripes Under Great White Northern Lights

It's that time of the week again where I tell you that NPR is streaming an awesome new album and you in turn either listen to said awesome album or ignore the recommendation.  Either way we are all winners, unless of course you are choosing the ignore route which, let's just be honest, is kind of rude.  That being said how about the one and only live White Stripes album?

This week's Exclusive First Listen is Under Great White Northern Lights, the companion album to the Emmett Malloy documentary of the same name that chronicles the duo's 2007 tour in which the band tried to play every single Canadian province.  Both the film and album are set to be released March 16th but until then you can listen to the entire rocking album for free.  Then you should buy it.

Unfortunately it looks like the hosers over at NPR no longer want these streams embeddable so I will include a direct link to the audio, which should just open a new window with the stream in it which will enable you to browse freely.  Hooray.   Check it out right here.

Jack White Is Gonna Let You Finish, But....

While at a Q&A for the new White Stripes documentary Under Great White Northern Lights, which was making its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival, it appears Jack White had a bad case of self-control.  As the film's creative team is discussing the film, a furious White storms the stage and rips the microphone away from the 19 year old girl, I mean 40 year old man.  I do have to agree with White, as he does have a point, Orson Welles did indeed make one of the best movies of all time
