The hurricane of rock that is Them Crooked Vultures paid a visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live last night.  The fellas performend Gunman and Mind Eraser No Chaser from their kickass self titled debut album.  I'll admit it was a bit chilly last night but Josh Homme looks like he's preparing for an Arctic cruise while Grohl rocks the official uniform of awesome, shorts and a t-shirt. This weekend will see the Vultures appearing at Coachella, presumably highly caffeinated.   [via CoS]

It all makes sense now.  Apparently Dave Grohl likes other beverages besides Jamesons and he really likes Fresh Pots of his favorite beverage.  On paper a video that shows Dave Grohl's love for coffee and the results of said affection doesn't sound too fascinating, but watching a video of the above is a much better experience.  Good times.  Now someone get me some damn fresh pots.

Coachella 2010 Lineup Is Here!

The 2010 version of your favorite non-Halloween music festival in Indio, CA was announced today.  As per usual it looks pretty damn awesome.  In fact Friday happens to feature bands that made 4 of my favorite albums of 2009, Them Crooked Vultures, Grizzly Bear, Passion Pit, and The Avett Brothers.  Lots of fun for everyone, although aside from Muse I could do with some different headliners.  No offense to the Jay-Z contingent but he doesn't really get me as excited as last year's Friday headliner, Sir Paul McCartney.

This year sees the festival add car camping as well as ins and out privileges.  Hooray partying in your campsite for cheap!  Go America!

Tickets for the festival go on sale Friday, January 22 at 10:00 AM. Last week we made mention of the release date for one of my most anticipated albums of the year, Them Crooked Vultures self titled debut.  Today the group released the first official single from the album, New Fang.  A straight ahead rocker with a busy Grohl pounding away on the drums in the background. 

If you weren't already pumped enough, the band also announced their first West Coast tour dates.  I haven't seen all the details yet but the LA show, which just so happens to coincide with the album release date, has a presale beginning on Oct 29th and the general onsale starting Oct. 31.  Keep your eyes peeled if you are interested as these shows will undoubtedly sell out very quickly.  And they will rock, they will rock very very hard.

Them Crooked Vultures Announce Album Details, Date

Them Crooked Vultures have built up quite a bit of buzz without even releasing any actual music to the public.  That's not really an easy thing to do but when you have Josh Homme Dave Grohl and John Paul Jones together it is pretty understandable.  After some festival appearances and a small run of small club shows the band has announced the tracklist for their upcoming self titled debut which is set to hit stores November 17th.  Hooray!

The band did say they will be touring in support of the album, but didn't offer up too many specifics.

Additional shows are being announced in the wake of the album's release, including but not necessarily limited to December dates in the UK and Europe and a January trip to Australia and New Zealand. via

Them Crooked Vultures ACL Night Show, Euro Dates

Sometime last week this borderline turned into a Them Crooked Vultures fansite. I have tried to tamper those expectations a bit mostly based on my unbelievable ability to be lazy. After all the secret gigs, and surprise appearances at the European festivals, the Vultures have finally given some people a bit of advanced noticed. The band will be returning to the states for the second stateside appearance at a major festival's night shows, this time in the form of the Austin City Limits festival. Luckily this time around the band will be playing an actual daytime festival slot as well on Friday. On Thursday October 1, the band will get the weekends festivities off to an extremely rocking start at Stubb's. Tickets for the Stubb's show will go on sale this Saturday at 10am Austin time through Front Gate Tickets

And for those on the other side of the pond, or those looking for a reason to head over there, the guys have also announced some actual advanced dates.

Them Crooked Vultures did indeed surprise the crowd at this weekend's Pukkelpop festival in Belgium. While these videos aren't going to knock your cinematographic socks off, you do get to hear quite a bit more of the songs.

As far as supergroups go, this one is up there pretty high. Probably only to be topped by that super band of tv stars that also play an instrument. Those guys are really good. As the rock is no doubt contagious, we'll make sure to keep you updated with everything Them Crooked Vultures. Awesomeness.

Here is Them Crooked Vultures performing the song Dead End Friends last night in Amsterdam. Get it while you can as it appears one of Josh Homme's duties is the band is removing "copyrighted" video from youtube of the bands gigs. Hopefully they gave up on that quick as it might be the lamest business plan ever. Yeah, I'm thinking of you Prince.

Sound quality could be a bit better here but I think you'll get the point, this band brings the rock.

Rolling Stone's Rock N Roll Daily suggests that Them Crooked Vultures could be the surprise guest for this weekend’s Pukkelpop Festival, as the X on Them Crooked Vulutres Google Earth feature is positioned over Hasselt, Belgium, the site of the Pukkelpop Festival.

Here is a little video snippet of Them Crooked Vultures in the studio along with 33 seconds of some intense rock in the form of Nobody Loves Me and Neither Do I. To say I am excited for this band would be one of the understatements of the millenia. The band is set to rock The Melkweg in Amseterdam Aug 19th, so I will post any updates/reviews I find after the show.
