I can't believe this is true, as I first heard about it on a Phish message board, but now ESPN is running with it so it seems that it is. You can always count on the new wave hippie.

New York Giants receiver Plaxico Burress suffered an accidental gunshot wound Friday night in a club, according to multiple sources.

Details of the incident weren't immediately available, but according to a source the wound was not considered life-threatening.

Fox Sports.com reported that Burress accidentally shot himself in the leg and spent the night in the hospital.

Obviously the Giants are not commenting on the story as they are simply doing their best to keep Tom Coughlin away so he doesn't finish the job Plaxico started. Seriously. He's 6'5 230 pounds of straight muscle. What the hell is he doing with a gun in his pocket at a nightclub? It will be interesting to see how this plays out as the Giants have been steamrolling the league with no thanks to Plaxico, as he has been a giant douche for the entire season.
