Pearl Jam Explain Backspacer With Danny Clinch Video

Here's a video made by famed photographer Danny Clinch about Pearl Jam's new album Backspacer. They run through some tunes, including a pretty ballad in the middle that frames this awesomely exciting/aggressive quote

I don't know if there is another record out there with better lyrics. To be honest. It makes me feel really proud to be up here providing some sort of background for that.

That's bassist Jeff Ament getting you really pumped. Color me excited. Backspacer is set to be released September 20th.

Pearl Jam Single The Fixer Hits "Radio"

The first official single off the new Pearl Jam album Backspacer has hit radio/the internet. The song is called The Fixer and is a nice up tempo pop-rock piece. It would seem to work well with their new distribution deal with Target as I am pretty sure I would have heard a couple songs like this if there was ever a time I stumbled into the cd section at Target to pick up some hip new tunes.

The single is currently streaming at the Pearl Jam Ten Club myspace page. Backspacer hits stores, or in most cases just Target, on September 20th.

Pearl Jam Announces Tour Dates For Backspacer

Pearl Jam has just announced some North American tour dates in support of their upcoming studio album Backspacer. The album is set to hit stores September 20th.

The tour kicks off in the band's hometown of Seattle, WA with two shows at the Key Arena on September 21st and 22nd, and closes with two shows at Philadelphia's historic Spectrum on October 28th and 30th.

Ben Harper and Relentless 7 will open all dates, except for the Spectrum Theater shows. All dates are subject to change.

Sep-22 Seattle, WA Key Arena
Sep-30 Los Angeles, CA Gibson Amp.
Oct-1 Los Angeles, CA Gibson Amp.
Oct-6 Los Angeles, CA Gibson Amp.
Oct-7 Los Angeles, CA Gibson Amp.
Oct-9 San Diego, CA Viejas Arena
Oct-28 Philadelphia, PA Spectrum
Oct-30 Philadelphia, PA Spectrum

Ten club presale starts Monday the 13th, while the Philadelphia Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, July 17th at 10am EST. All other confirmed shows go on sale on Saturday, July 18th at 10am PST.

As a southern California resident I can't really find a way to complain about these dates. In fact one might say these collective dates are awesome, one might even venture to Super Hella Awesomeville. So so great. Of course these dates are in addition to their upcoming performances at the Canadian Virgin, Outside Lands and Austin City Limits festivals, as well as their two Chicago shows. Probably the third best live band going now, and that's saying something. I would recommend making it to any or all of these shows, aside from the Oct 30 Spectrum show, as clearly you will be in your costume at the Save The Date festival, hopefully still enjoying the lovely Southern California air.

Pearl Jam Got Some On Conan

Here is the video of Pearl Jam debuting their new song Got Some, from their upcoming album Backspacer, on the first ever episode of the Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien.

If you somehow managed to miss the episode, you can see some more clips from the show over at Hulu, and yes that includes both Will Ferrell interview segments. Rock.
