Clint Eastwood

Clint Eastwood is Hella Awesomer than this site

He says the world would be a better place if we could still laugh at inoffensive jokes about different races. The actor and director, 78, said we live in constant fear of being labelled racist for simply laughing about national stereotypes. ‘People have Lost their sense of humour,’ he told Germany’s Der Spiegel magazine.

‘In former times we constantly made jokes about different races. You can only tell them today with one hand over your mouth otherwise you will be insulted as a racist. I find that ridiculous. In those earlier days every friendly clique had a “Sam the Jew” or “José the Mexican” - but we didn’t think anything of it or have a racist thought.’

‘It was normal that we made jokes based on our nationality or ethnicity. That was never a problem. I don’t want to be politically correct. We’re all spending too much time and energy trying to be politically correct about everything.’

My group has a "Dave the Mexican", so I'm right on board with Clint here. The fact that Gran Torino didn't warrant at least 1 Oscar nomination probably has to do with the perceived offensive material in the movie, which is a joke. It should have at least been nominated for the Best Musical or Comedy at the Golden Globes, right?

Magnum Force The Musical

So I guess this is a rumor or something. I don't even know what it is except for a new model of Bad Idea Jeans. Let's just cut to the chase.

Plans are reportedly afoot for the 1973 sequel to Dirty Harry, in which Clint Eastwood hunts down a vigilante cop with a penchant for murdering gangsters, to be turned into an all-singing, all-dancing production. It would follow in the footsteps of rather more comprehensible conversions such as Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Dirty Dancing, Sunset Boulevard and the world-conquering Billy Elliot.

British singer/songwriter Robyn Hitchcock is the one responsible for this mess of a plan. Are you interested in a Dirty Harry musical? That's what she said!

Gran Torino Update: Eastwood Still Mean Looking

All the reports coming out about the newest Clint Eastwood starring Clint Eastwood film indicate that Clint will be stretching himself and playing a guy that everyone thinks is mean, likes guns, and likes cars. Asked how he is able to keep stretching himself at the old age of 78, Clint ripped the interviewer's heart right out of his chest. Over the phone. The moral of the story is don't fuck with Clint. The movie sounds like one of those typical movies that would suck if someone normal was making it, luckily we have an all time legend at the helm so it will probably avoid the typical sap and bad acting that plagues these stories:

His Gran Torino character is Walt Kowalski, a racist Korean War veteran whose prized possession is a classic car that catches the eye of local gangs in his Detroit neighborhood. One of the troubled kids who covets the vehicle is from a family of Hmong immigrant neighbors, whom Kowalski has long resented.

...."The young kid, as part of a gang initiation, tries to steal it, and the old guy gets him at the end of the M-1, which becomes kind of a big deal," Eastwood says. "The kid has to do penance because of the pride of the Asian group. They make him do penance. He has to come over, and the old guy doesn't want anything to do with him, doesn't want him anywhere around."

Joking aside Clint hasn't made anything besides unbelievably great stuff for a long time. While reading up on the new movie I found out he hasn't acted in a film he hasn't directed in 15 years. How awesome is that? He pretty much decided he was done with ever having people tell him what to do. You know, although slow and dangerous behind the wheel of a motorized vehicle, old people really can serve a purpose. Don't believe me, check out this kickass PSA below:
