Daytrotter Sessions

Brad Did A Daytrotter Session And It's Really Great, True Story

I missed posting this last week when it first hit the Daytrotter site but that wasn't because it's worth missing, I just was out of town and was out of my daily routine of Daytrotter listening. Boring story but worth mentioning only because it's a really fantastic session featuring SHA favorites Brad. As opposed to their recent publicity tour standards of "Low" and "Every Whisper", Shawn Smith and company stick to some of the softer numbers from their catalog, with the past albums represented by Welcome To Discovery Park's "Never Let Each Other Down" opening the set and Interior's "Upon My Shoulders" closing the set. Of course the band didn't forget about Best Friends? so you get "Bless Me Father" and "Price Of Love" sandwiched in the middle.

You can check out the silky smooth "Never Let Each Other Down" below to see that I'm serious about the really great part, then you should head over to the Daytrotter page and download it. For free, because Daytrotter is awesome. Also included to help satiate your Brad appetite there is a video of the band recording "Upon My Shoulders" from the session. Good Stuff.

Uncool Update: The video is sucking, you can check it out at the official Brad site.

Dr. Dog Stop In For A Daytrotter Session

If you are starting to feel like this site is really just a front for a Dr. Dog fanclub, I wouldn't suggest that you are incorrect per se, but I would redirect you to the name of said front, and how Dr. Dog remains fully applicable to said name.  That being said this is one of the last pieces of album release hoopla I was waiting for, a glorious visit to the awesome that is Daytrotter.

Scott McMicken, Toby Leaman, and the rest of the gang stopped in Rock Island, IL where they performed three songs off the new album as well as a reworked version of a tune off of Fate, Army Of Ancients.  The new tunes that got the Daytrotter treatment included Station, I Only Wear Blue, and Where'd All The Time Go, the latter of which I have included below to get you all excited.

You can head over to Daytrotter to listen to the entire session as well as download all the tracks for free.  Also it's a wonderful place to play around at for hours, so you should definitely check it out if you have never had the good fortune.

AA Bondy Stops In For A Daytrotter Session

Last week AA Bondy stopped by the always awesome Daytrotter for a nice four song set where he played tracks off of last year's awesome [amazon B002HJ4DQY].  Featured are the title track, A Slow Parade, The Pole Hits The Fire, and I Can See The Pines Are Dancing.  Head over to Daytrotter to listen to the entire session or to download any of the tracks.

Based on the following comment over at the scene of the crime it was an easy choice for what song to tease you with.

this version of slow parade is the best thing to happen to my life since the first version. i cannot stop listening. it makes me want to live differently. better.

fun. Does A Daytrotter Session

I've been listening to fun.'s 2009 release Aim and Target quite a bit this week.  Probably to chase off my Vikings blues, but also because awesome website Pretty Much Amazing alerted me to their recent Daytrotter Session. I'd recommend checking it out if you are in to that sort of thing.  Here is the track All The Pretty Girls from the session.  For more info on fun. head over to their official website.
