Kids Incorporated Mondays

Kids Incorporated Mondays: Cruel Summer

If timeliness was ahead of awesomeness on our priority list we would have made this week's choice coincide with the Jaden Smith starring terdsicle remake of The Karate Kid, but we are only human, or are we dancer? It's not the greatest performance of all time or anything, but it is the Kids Incorporated crew covering Bananarama which in and of itself is pretty darn special. Comment away internet.

KidsIncorporated - Holy excess smoke batman!

timberwolfbabe - Another great song from Martika. The episode was good as well.

dac719 - Anybody remember this song in the movie "The Karate Kid"?

jonathanmrussell - Martika was rocking the short skirts in the first season of kids inc lol

Totally LOL jonathanmrussell. Oh you silly Fergie fans, can't live with em and they can't pee standing up. Happy Monday everybody.

Kids Incorporated Mondays: Some Guys Have All The Luck

I was about to post a different amazing video and then I realized I was watching a Kids Incorporated playlist and this came on and, well, you  know the rest. Opening with a nice pan by the one and only Mario Lopez on the skins, the gang sway from side to side in near perfect unison while dominating Rod Stewart's jealousy classic "Some Guys Have All The Luck". From the get go it is pretty clear the Kids came to play, especially when Rashaan Patterson takes the lead for some serious eyelash batting, and thankfully the youtube commenters returned the favor with an impassioned effort themselves. Take it away lords of observation:

snoochy2 - This song and performance are very good. At first I didn't like the song, but their version is so good. I love it now.

mignonhenne - didn't we all want the BEAT IT jacket.? some girl at my school had the black one but the red one was in the clip.

216rules - thought this would have more than 2,432 views, but this could be a hidden gem

snoochy2 - Why did Jerry Sharell not wear a yellow bandanna around his neck, like Marta?

timberwolfbabe - They match most of the time I guess it can't be all the time.

snoochy2 - I'd love to own one of those "Beat It" jackets. I like this version of "Some Guys Have All the Luck",more than Rich Shoff's version. the harmony is great. How did Mickey keep the Bandanna from sliding down his pants? His voice is great here. I love how Mickey doesn't sing, and looks at The Kid at the end.I nearly cry when I watch this video.Wow.

Wow is right. Snoochy2 really has quite a bit to say about this video, and for that we should all be extremely thankful. Happy Monday everybody.

Kids Incorporated Mondays: Tell Her About It

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's three of the Kids Incorporated girls doing the Billy Joel classic "Tell Her About It". Not really the greatest quality or performance for that matter but good lord is Martika wearing an amazing sweater. It's pretty clear you can get motion sickness from trying to focus on the ladies as they dance/run in place, but fear not young awesomers the internet isn't sleeping on it. Jazzercise it out YouTubers:

jimmypi - I love how this was around the time you could really hear all their voices when they were singing together, instead of voices that sounded like Martika's echo.

CalgarSkull - Renee is so perky

timberwolfbabe - The girls did a nice job on this song.I liked it Renee and Stacy need to get Martika to teach them to dance.

She definitely has a bit more movement than the other ladies, but if anything I would just hope Martika teaches them how to wear incredibly awesome sweaters.

Kids Incorporated Mondays: Back In Time

There's not really any funny comments for this video but I can't help myself as its a killer performance not to mention the artist being interpreted is none other than the legendary Huey Lewis and the News. You'll have to bear with me this week as 3 nights of Phish at the Greek is on the horizon so it's hard to think about anything else right now which somehow leads me to Huberto Lewis and the relevant information that accompany him.

See a lot of people are hoping that the fellas break out some Dead considering the location and close proximity to the anniversary of Jerry's death, and that's fine, I'm on board. But let's not forget we have three nights, the band is clearly having a good time with the covers, and the Bay Area is ripe with other playful nods. Hearing Trey shred some Neal Schon licks comes to mind, but nothing gets my antelope running more than the thought of Page tackling lead vocals Lawn Boy style on the classic "If This Is It". Really any Huey is fine by me.

Either way the Kids Inc gang never handled the track, but they did massacre "Back In Time" in the best way possible. Enjoy.

Kids Incorporated Mondays: Games People Play

Apparently someone somewhere believes that when people think Kids Incorporated they think progressive rock, and I'm totally fine with that if only because of the band tackling "Games People Play" by The Alan Parsons Project. The lead vocal is handled by the one and only Renee Sands who apparently now goes by the name Renee Sandstrom and happens to have quite a bit of fans. Take it away you wonderful youtubers you:

iambernig - I had a thing for Renee when I was a kid. She still has awesome range.

WebRider16 - same here. I had a thing for Renee too. But she was a bit older than me back when I had that crush.

johnnyquest870 - I think this show is single handedly responsible for making the key-tar popular...

juuhatchigou18 - does anyone know where i can get the dance mix of this song wich is played in abercrombie and fitch????

Rumor has it that dance remix is on the new LFO greatest hits record.

Kids Incorporated Mondays: Everybody Have Fun Tonight

No clue how this hasn't graced the pages of SHA quite yet but a search insists that it hasn't. Here we have almost all of our favorite incorporated kids rocking one of the many monster hits in the Wang Chung catalog, "Everybody Have Fun Tonight". If you have always been hoping to see Martika and company in matching bedazzled tuxedos, today is your lucky day. But why am I boring you with all this talky talky, let's get to the good stuff. Take it away youtubers, with your wit and charm and sexy Gary Coleman calf tattoo:

girlsingerfan - Does anyone besides me think that Fergie, here as Stacy Ferguson, was a better singer as a child? As an adult, she is OK. As a kid singer, she was definitely above average. Pretty good I would say.

ironforce001 - There's that creepy guy in the audience again. Hes taller than all the kids and appears in the audience in almost all the shows this season.

FireDannyAinge - That is Jean Paul Hellendedll. He was a KI stalker.lol He once ran a fan club for Renee and tried to claim the people in the fan club were all for him.

LMAO swankrecords - The girl in yellow now works at the Mustang Ranch.

On a normal day I would focus on the hilariousness of the Kids Incorporated stalker, but today is no normal day. Today is the day I finally book a trip to Mustang Ranch!

Kids Incorporated Mondays: Running With The Night

We are officially less than two weeks away from the goodness that is known as Summer Slam 2: Electric Boogaloo and that can only mean one thing, or really an assortment of things, but more specifically in this instance it means one and that is Lionel Richie!  While this Kids Inc performance of "Running With The Night" is one of the better numbers we've had in a while, the joy comes from our must trusted source. Get down with your bad self youtube commenters:

DoctorLeonardMcCoy - After hearing only two of their songs, it looks like I have a new favorite band. When I dance like that it looks stupid, but when they do it it looks cool. That's so not fair. lol

manga12 - But I loved how the shows from the 80s were played without stop till like the late 90's then everything changed, well first they brought out vault disney which was cool to see what my perents grew up with, and the stuff that made the disney name what it was, but now there is no classism to disney chanel its all teen soap opera's and movies, what happoned to the silly symponys, and the walt disney presents drama type shows.

BenJabituya - Disney should make a flashback 80's channel.

KonohasGreenBeast - The gary coleman show. The Globetrotters cartoon... God? in the 80's? No. There was no GOD. there was only TEARS.

Apparently KonohasGreenBeast forgot to mention hair metal, the ultimate proof of a benevolent force controlling the universe, or maybe the exact opposite.

Kids Incorporated Mondays: Rhythm Of The Night

We're officially less than a month away from Summer Slam 2: Electric Boogaloo and that can only mean one thing, Friday's Foreign Covers and Kids Incorporated Mondays featuring songs that might get played at the Slam in order to hype up the hypeable. This time we bring you Rashaan Patterson handling lead vocals on the DeBarge classic "Rhythm Of The Night" complete with commenters galore.

homeboymagik - they relllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly el debarge think about killing himself cuz that was stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

timberwolfbabe - Dr. Jekyll meets night of the living dead kids inc. style. Pretty good though for a kids show.

elmando5 - The only cast member I didn't like is Renee. She is so stiff even in this footage. Martika and Raashan ("The Kid") were the best ones and then Fergie ("Stacey") would become a much better performer in the later seasons which will one day make her the star she is today.

sho'nuff - Kiss my converse

Ok, I'll admit that one of those may have been made up, but there is no doubt Sho'nuff would have had a strong internet presence if he was still alive in 2010.

Kids Incorporated Mondays: When The Going Gets Tough

Anytime we get a chance to bookend the weekend with Billy Ocean you can bet that's going to happen. Pretty much your standard Kids Inc performance with the added bonus of more Mario Lopez dancing than normal. Danny Devito would be so proud.

There should be lots of exciting stuff coming up this week including a SHA Mock Draft to prepare you for Thursday's NBA Draft as well as some details on an awesome contest going on at Summer Slam. Hooray Monday.

Kids Incorporated Mondays: Twistin' The Night Away

This is nothing more than an all out assault on the legendary Sam Cooke's "Twistin' The Night Away". Ryan Lambert is the lead offender but those insanely peppy backups certainly aren't helping anything. There's only four comments on youtube, so the pickings are a bit slim, but fortunately for us the people that comment on Kids Incorporated videos are the cream of the crop.

jimmypi - Okay so I know that the older guy in the audience was a friend of the cast and crew, but it still freaks me out that he's there...

QBCNetwork - Ryan Lambert's the coolest Southpaw guitarist.

stargate109 - never used the word "gay" like in original.,But that's fine as the meaning has changed.

mshearer1 - lol..ummm...Jimi Hendrix?

As with most Kids Inc videos, it all comes back to Jimi Hendrix.  Don't you ever change internet.
