Kids Incorporated Mondays

Kids Incorporated Mondays: You Make My Dreams Come True

First off let me apologize. For all the times I have entered "Kids Incorporated Hall And Oates" in to the youtube search field, I have failed to stumble across this wonderous version of the incredibly smooth duo's "You Make My Dreams Come True". Aside from the original being one of the all time great make you feel good songs, the Kids Inc gang really shine in their version. You want attitude? Jerry is going to make you overdose on attitude. How about lime green? Yes I'll take all the outfits you have thanks. And of course what good is a Kids Incorporated video without spitting some truth down in the comments section? Take it away mythical creatures that learned to type:

timberwolfbabe - Jerry and Martika had great chemistry together on stage. They naturally clicked together when they did songs together.

BOAFASOLDIER - yes they did as did stacy and ryan

1234cait - It is so cute when Stacy is holding Jerry's hand at around 2:11

musicrox83 - I wish they still had this kinda clean shows of t.v. to watch.

timberwolfbabe - So true.

So fresh, so clean, so true. Thanks timberwolfbabe.

Kids Incorporated Mondays: I Only Want To Be With You

Not sure exactly what it says about me that I was bummed this wasn't the Hootie and the Blowfish tune, but those doldrums were quickly kicked to the curb when I basked in the creepiness that is Kids Incorporated covering Dusty Springfield's "I Only Want To Be With You". I'm pretty sure that creepy brunette is a young Jennifer Love Hewitt if only based on the spazm heavy dance moves, either way this would have been a wonderful subject on Mystery Science Theater 3000. Let's check in with some devoted followers/commenters:

Nitingale78 - Ryan was 18 when he left. He's 4 years older than Stacy. Depending on when her last season ended she was either 14 or 15 when she left. But yeah that's a possibility that she left because none of the original were there anymore. But Ryan wasn't as original either, he came on a year after the show started. Who knows why Stacy quit. I doubt they (the producers, execs and directors) let her go, she was too popular.

SClubLover89 - Yeah, that's true. Maybe she didn't think it felt as fun anymore since none of Jerry, Martika, Renee or Rahsaan were there anymore. She was the last of the originals. And yeah, Ryan came in season 2, but still, he was there when Martika, Renee and Rahsaan all still were too. I'm sure Stacy liked it with this bunch too, but she probably missed the originals (and Ryan). Maybe it's as simple as she felt that it was time to do something else and that 5 years on the show was enough or something.

Nitingale78 - Yep. She probably was just ready to move on. It would be kinda hard for her to miss Ryan though. They were dating in this season, I think they started in his final season. So she still had him at least. I hope that when they broke up it was a good break up and they were able to stay friends. I missed the old cast to. JLH was the only one who kept i bearable after Stacy left. And when JLH left I couldn't watch it anymore. I had no more favorites on the show.

SClubLover89  - Yeah, exactly. She probably just felt that it was time for her to move on. I didn't know that she and Ryan were dating. That's cool :) I hope it was a good break-up too. I'm sure they're still friends, I'm sure (and hope) they all are :) I know exactly what you mean. My favourites are JLH, Rahsaan, Martika and Connie. When none of them were left (so like you said, after JLH left), I didn't like the either. I still liked Kenny, but it wasn't enough. I had no more favourites left either.

And there you have it, the Kids Incorporated timeline and dating factoid spectacular. It's pretty magnificent as long as you are hoping Stacy and Ryan had a good break-up.

Kids Incorporated Mondays: Just Once

To be honest it is sort of hard to think of anything besides The Book Of Mormon songs right now, but as a born-again Danzaoist I have made a promise to myself and my church that SHA shant be ignored for earthly pleasures, unless those earthly pleasures involve bacon. As you may have guessed I'm currently bacon free so the ignoring has ceased and the gift to you all is this wonderful take on Jeffrey Osbourne's hit "Just Once". Renee and Stacy have never sounded so ........... squirrel!

Sadly the youtubers didn't really bring the thunder for this video and I'm having a hard time figuring out why. As far as I can tell we've still got excessive emoting, awkward dancing/swaying and at times it gets "a bit pitchy", so pretty much everything you've come to expect to get amazing comments. Maybe it was just too good, or maybe, just once, they've found a way to finally make it right. Make the music last for more than just one ...... squirrel!

Kids Incorporated Mondays: Walk On Water

For a Monday today is shaping up pretty nicely, which is what a new Beastie Boys album will do for you. That being said it seemed like a fitting time to bring back some of the Kids Incorporated gang and I don't know about you but when I think April 25th I think Eddie Money. Thankfully Richie has got Eddie and I covered with his take on "Walk On Water", although not without his detractors.

One of the only songs I like from Richie - jimmypi

I wonder what happened to Richie - molympia1977

Great Song. Richie was great, more likeable as he aged. Nowhere near as obnoxius as he was when he was younger. Even if he did not really sing. (Jennifer) Love Hewitt (in blue) definitely stole the show. She always did. - ellenwispa

Hard to argue with ellenwispa, she seems to know what she is talking about. They don't call her (Jennifer) Love Hewitt for (nothing). Also not to be all picky or anything but that is some of the worst fake keytar playing I've seen this month. I watch a lot of keytar videos.

Kids Incorporated Mondays: No Looking Back

For the sake of honesty it is worth noting that this Kids Incorporated cover of Kenny Loggins "No Looking Back" made the cut more for the comments than the performance. That's nothing against the performance in question though, it's pretty marvelous more for the choreographed dancing than the vocals but still, choreographed dancing. Let's get to the good stuff, take it away princes of YouTube, kings of New England Internetia:

* kalamaty - This number is a shining example of how great this particular cast was! Amazing dance routine, amazing vocals, etc! I used to know this dance by heart! This was one of their very best scenes! Kids Inc was the coolest, I mean they were vogueing before Madonna made it popular five years later! This show and 84-86 cast are unforgettable! Definitely one of my all-time fave episodes! Martika's "Never Surrender" is amazing, too! Someone please upload that from this same episode!

* elmando5 - Martika looked so much like Jennifer Beals from FLASHDANCE it's scary.

Those of course were the "Top Comments". Duh. Apparently Madonna needs to worry about a lawsuit, who knew. Happy Monday everybody.

Kids Incorporated Mondays: This Old Heart Of Mine

I know what you're thinking right now. Finally Kids Incorporated Mondays are back, and this is true, so congratulations. I'm sure the wait has been long and arduous but I'm happy to report that your trials have been rewarded with a Valentine themed, Jennifer Love Hewitt heavy performance of The Isley Brothers "This Old Heart Of Mine". As a warning there's a whole lot of sass emanating from the stage but you already knew that when I mentioned J-Love. Happy Monday everybody.

Kids Incorporated Mondays: Goonies R Good Enough

This one is pretty special as it appears someone had an eight ball backstage, or at the very least a twelve pack of Jolt. Martika really brings the thunder for this performance of Cyndi Lauper's finest contribution to the world, the theme song for one of the best movies ever "Goonies R' Good Enough". The fact that she does so with the most energy I've seen on Kids Inc since the Hasselhoff guess appearance can be attributed to her fondness for the film or Lauper, or quite possibly from the previously mentioned backstage activities. Either way we are better for it, and the outfits and vogueing are pretty special too.

Little know fact but Martika's dance moves are illegal in the continental US so they ended up filming this performance at a bar in Mexico that is now known as El Crockertot, owned and operated by none other than Manuel Suave, Rico's brother. True story.

Kids Incorporated Mondays: Love Is Like A Heatwave

It's a pretty exciting day around here as we're getting ready to launch something we think has some serious awesome potential, not to mention we've been away for a while and missed you oh so terribly. Your mom said to remind you to eat your oatmeal and get at least 8 hours of sleep every night. Also she says the gas is genetic and apologizes. But you already knew that.

Here we have Ryan Lambert and company doing their best take on Martha and the Vandellas' hit "Love Is Like a Heatwave".  Not unlike their musical counterparts, the commenters sort of forgot about their A-game for this one, and we're all better people for it.

ironforce001 - This song is kinda weak. "With or Without You" is by far his best in all seasons!

Spice99857 - they should have had a chick sing this song. would have been ten times better. that dude's voice is kind of flat. it's a girlie song anyway.

ironforce001 - The mic is in his pocket. Amazing how good a fan projects ur voice!

ChristianKidsShowFan - Yeah, and I can't for the life of me picture this song with a guy singing lead.

Nitingale78 - I wonder if it was ever hard for Stacy to see Ryan "Flirting" with the dancing girls? Cause you never saw her "flirting" with the dancing boys.

Tis truly one of the great mysteries of our time Nitingale78. I've spent many a fortnight sleepless pondering the same query.

Also amazing fan. Happy Monday everybody.

Kids Incorporated Mondays: He's So Shy

It's always a good thing when you get some Pointer Sisters in the morning, even moreso* when it is of the Kids Incorporated kind. Here the gang inspires some youtubers to dance with a take on the fantastic "He's So Shy".

AlienCountryGirl - I can't stop dancing to this!!!

jonathanmrussell - Hah I love how Martika and Jerry bump behinds lol

RRLnext - Cute Fergie! But she messes up a lot here..! XD And she still stands in the spotlight all the time, compared to the other kids!

markukkerd - 1:08 Stacy rocks!!! Stacy rules!!! Stacy is Stacy, there is no Fergie!!!

jimmypi - I'll say it again... Wendy should've replaced Martika as the oldest girl, and they should not have added Connie (I'll give Richie a break since he did end up being okay in the 1989 season).

snoochy2 - This is my favorite song and performance. I love Wendy's facial expressions and dancing in "The Dancer". Will someoneplease post this whole episode up in the future? Thanks. Why did she take all the things off,put them on the table then leave? Exactly how shy was Wendy?

Truly one of the great mysteries of our time. Legend has it Wendy was so shy she still to this day hasn't added any friends to her Facebook profile. Mr. T was once heard saying how he pitied Wendy's shyness far more than he did any fool. Happy Monday everybody.

* - Arguable

Kids Incorporated Mondays: Got My Mind Set On You

This one is what they call in the business a "doozy". See Richie is running for class president and he wants people to know he is thinking about them which is where "Got My Mind Set On You" comes in, just the way George Harrison intended. Take it away youtubers.

mistressfreyja1313 - Good cover for Ritchie! (On a side note anybody think that Ryan needs a leather biker jacket a la Rudy from 'Monster Squad' in his little segment?)

frubapanic - Heh. Fergie as a cheerleader back when she was just Stacy. Makes me feel old.

pooka5472 - @frubapanic What would be even more interesting would be to have this take place in 1987 and have Rahsaan be amongst the football players, so that way they could be together.

iloveles234 - okay those girls are everywhere, are they stalking Richie or somthen to see if he fails

pcm61774 - I always thought this song was called "Wake up, I might sit on you"....

I like the sound of that, Weird Al would be so jealous. Happy Monday everybody.
