Kids Incorporated Mondays: Misunderstanding

In honor of my favorite four member band rocking some Genesis tonight, let's see how the Kids Incorporated gang handles some of the legendary group's material.  Here's a hint, terribly.  We've got the guys doing their version of Misunderstanding, and I am pretty sure the misunderstanding in question may be about the tempo.

Happy Monday everybody.

Kids Incorporated Mondays: The Heat Is On

This video really has everything you are looking for in a Kids Incorporated Monday.  Awkwardly matched song and theme, in this case The Heat Is On and working out.  Group dancing which of course naturally happens regardless of the situation or locale.  Inspired lip singing, terrible fashion, and of course the voices of angels.  Enjoy Ryan Lambert and the rest of the gang taking on the Glenn Frey hit as only they can.

Unfortunately at this time I can neither confirm nor deny whether or not the heat is in fact on.

Kids Incorporated Mondays: Two Hearts

How about some Phil Collins through a Kids Incorporated filter for those with a case of the Mondays?  It's usually a potent combination, kind of like my kick-boxing moves.  Rock.

If you are like me you are wondering what the fine citizens of youtube commentland are thinking about this performance.  Take it away smartermind

This song is soo... Like Happy! And Kenny Always had a voice near to Michael Jaskson That I really liked.. But in this song he sang it kinda like Phil But much better :D Keep it up Kenny!

True dat, keep it up Kenny!

Kids Incorporated Mondays: Careless Whisper

Here's Martika's take on the super smooth Wham! hit Careless Whisper with some Mario Lopez on fake piano.  Pretty standard Kids Incorporated.  Interesting anything-but-fact tidbit I read on the youtube page, apparently Mario was dating Stacey?  Now I don't like to get into gossip at this here website, but I also never have any exclusives.  So you heard it here first, Mario Lopez used to date Fergie!

Kids Incorporated Mondays: Never

Just for fun let's get straight to the youtubers and this nice examination of human conversation in 2010.

i'm right with you. i'm a 20 year guy who enjoys 80s music and i was blown away myself by this cover of the Heart song

I'm in my 20s and I love listening to 80s music, too. I like 80s music way better than 2000s music and I wish I was born before the 80s and I just know that the 80s was a better decade than the 2000s and 2010s.

@Heegoop I would have to say after 2002, a lot music tended to go from adult contemporary to more teen-oriented pop music that was somewhat of a mediocre. I just didn't feel the magic of music anymore after 2002 lol

Not a bad point and most artists you find on the charts these days are younger than 35 and it's kinda sad. You see back when Kenny Rogers was at his peak of popularity he was in his 40s.

She sounds a lot better than Ann Wilson of the rock band Heart.Sing it Martika.

I liked Kids Incorporated and Martika in general, but that's really one of most ridiculous things I've ever read. Ann Wilson has one of the best voices ever.

Kids Incorporated Mondays: If You Leave

Nothing like some John Hughes memories to kick off your week, this time of the Pretty In Pink soundtrack variety.  Here we have the Kids Incorporated gang tackling the OMD hit If You Leave.  As per usual the best analysis comes from the youtube comments, take it away young bastions of the internet

AWESOME version of this song. Way better than the original. Martika and Fergie! Dream combo.... hello?! Martika's dreamy background vocals are fucking brill! Together, the two of them are amazing! Future number one artists, in a mid-80's mash-up to remember!!!
It truly is a mash-up to remember.  Happy Monday.

Kids Incorporated Mondays: Thunder Road

An all time classic.  The song, not the performance.  Here's Martika assaulting Bruce Springsteen's legendary Thunder Road.  I'm sure The Boss would be proud.  To be fair though I kind of see where mrballistix is coming from.

Where's the power? The majesty? The epic nature of the original?

Kids Incorporated Mondays: Waiting For A Star To Fall

There is a somewhat famous theorem in web publishing that any video that contains a flying v guitar is always a good video. The same theorem goes on to claim that adding choreographed dance moves by the person that is interacting with said flying v shall make the video awesome. The theorem offers this video as proof.

On a side related note I think this song possibly may spur a new segment, hopefully tomorrow.  Might even be a good one.

Kids Incorporated Mondays: Something So Strong

Long time Crowded House fan, first time caller.

Thankfully they didn't give the vocals to Stacy on this one, I don't think she would have handled it as well as Rashaan does here.

Sadly that wasn't from one of our usual glorious youtube commenters.  Oh my god, what's happening, I'm turning into one of them!

Kids Incorporated Mondays: And We Danced

This is partly posted just for the amazing collection of comments.  Take it away rabid Kids Incorporated Fans on the internet.

IF Ryan didn't fully start learning how to play guitar in the last seasons Then He's doing a hell of job acting like he's actually playing guitar See "Wild Wild Life" and "Living on a Prayer"
Special, it really is.  Happy last week of 2009.
