Listen To A New Beach House Song White Moon

As part of a newly released iTunes Session EP, Baltimore's finest dream pop band Beach House performed a previously unreleased track titled "White Moon". It's more of the same goodness you have come to expect from Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally. The complete session sees the band go through Devotion's "Gila" as well as four tunes from their awesome 2010 release Teen Dream, a download link is below. Currently you can catch the band live in a town near you as they are supporting Vampire Weekend in an ongoing nationwide tour.   [via stereogum]

Listen To Jenny And Johnny's Debut Album I'm Having Fun Now

When we first told you of lovebirds turned bandmates Jonathan Rice and Jenny Lewis there was a debut album and tour dates involved, along with the first single from said album. Well the single, "Scissor Runner", kicks off the album I'm Having Fun Now and thanks to the fine folks over at NPR you can stream the entire album for free up until it's August 31st release.  The day following the release will see Jenny and Johnny hit the road for the first time together, with September mainly getting the headlining treatment save for a couple Pavement support dates while October sees the band handling opening duties for Belle & Sebastian in Los Angeles, as well as a few dates opening up for Band Of Horses. Dates are available after the jump with tickets available from the usual suspects.

Brandon Flowers Gets Saved From Ninjas By Charlize Theron

If you just so happen to be really big fans of The Killers, Charlize Theron, and ninjas then today really is your lucky day. The first official video from Brandon Flowers' debut solo album Flamingo has hit the interwebs and it features Charlize Theron doing her best Kill Bill impersonation while saving The Killers frontman from a group of ninjas repeatedly. This is really annoying because the one time I was kidnapped by ninjas the celebrity vigilante that came to save me was Kathy Griffin. The only reason I made it out alive is because all the ninjas killed themselves, it was the honorable thing to do.

The song you're hearing is "Crossfire" which of course is the first single from the album. For anyone that is so inclined there is also a pretty boring Behind The Scenes thing from the video shoot included below. Flamingo is slated for a September 14th release.   [via CoS]

Brad Set To Release Best Friends August 10th

A few months back our world was heavy with Shawn Smith news with the reunion of Satchel, a new Brad album on the horizon, and even getting the gang back together with Steve Fisk for some Pigeonhead. The train is still rolling hard as Satchel is honing the live show up in Seattle with some occasional Brad gigs sprinkled in, including a last minute addition to last month's Sasquatch festival.

Now we have news of the official release date for the new Brad album Best Friends?.  The twelve song set will be released August 10th through Monkeywrench Records and will be available through Pearl Jam's Ten Club "in due course". For those that want to hear a sample from the record, the tune "Runnin For Cover" is still available as a free download through the Brad Corporation site. You can also check out the kickass promo video for the album below.

No word yet on when Satchel's Hearthache & Honey will be available online, so your only current option for picking up the album is through a live show which in a way is sort of a double win. Good times.

Listen To Chromeo's New Single Don't Turn The Lights On

Ridiculously excited would be a good way to describe our feelings about the upcoming Business Casual, Chromeo's third full length LP. While it won't hit stores until August 17th, the band is already moving on to single number two in the form of the dancetastic love jam "Don't Turn The Lights On". More of the synth pop fun you've come to expect from P-Thugg and Dave-1, although a bit more tender. Unfortunately we don't get the standard awesome video quite yet, but you can check out a static image while the tune plays below. Good times.

The fellas are currently making their magic overseas but the Business Casual tour hits the states starting July 26th in Washington D.C. Full dates are available after the jump with tickets available from the usual suspects.

Pearl Jam Debut New Song Of The Earth Live

Thanks to the fine folks over at the hurricane of awesome known as Consequence of Sound we have the audio from Tuesday night's debut of the new Pearl Jam song "Of The Earth". The band was marking the beginning of their European tour at The O2 in Dublin, Ireland when they decided to break out the b-side. Our last foray into the new Pearl Jam song business was only slightly successful as the tune in question is apparently an Eddie Vedder solo song for the upcoming estrogen heavy Julia Roberts film Eat, Pray, Love. You can check out the new tune below, what are your thoughts?

Jenny And Johnny Detail Debut Album, Announce Tour

It seems like the whole couples-making-music thing is in full swing and I don't mean the boy and girl combos like She & Him. I'm talking about the real couples, like Trent Reznor's How To Destroy Angels project, or Jack White producing his wife Karen Elson's debut album. Now indie wonder girl Jenny Lewis has partnered with her real life partner Jonathan Rice for the inventively named Jenny and Johnny.

The duo just announced a bunch of stuff including some tour dates, album details, and even their first tune, which is available for the price of a functioning email address. There is no official release date for the debut album titled I'm Having Fun Now, but if the pre-order page is any indication you can expect the album to ship in "late summer". Starting September 1st in Santa Cruz, the band will head up the west coast before seeing their tour head across the country, making a point to skip Arizona and all that insanity down there.

On top of all that goodness we have our first taste of what to expect from Jenny and Johnny, a guitar heavy pop number called "Scissor Runner" with both members trading off vocals.  Certainly a good start. The tune is streaming below and the download widget is available after the jump along with full tour dates. Tickets will be going on sale through the usual suspects later this week.   [via CoS]

Arcade Fire Give The Suburbs A Tracklist, Stream Two Singles

Are you ready for some Arcade Fire news fellow revelers of awesome? Looks like the rumors of a double album weren't totally made up as the tracklist was just revealed and it is sixteen songs deep. That's not even including some bonus disc or marketing gimmick, just an LP with sixteen tunes. Fantabulous.

During my little internet sabbatical earlier this week there were also a couple new tunes from the album that made their way online, which are both apparently the lead singles from the album. The first "Ready To Start" is apparently the US single while BBC Radio debuted the first official UK single "We Used To Wait". You can check out streams of both tunes below.  [via CoS]

Listen To An Unreleased Pearl Jam Song Better Days

Did someone say new Pearl Jam music? Don't mind me I'm just here for the gang bang. The fine folks over at Antiquiet found an mp3 posted at the band's Monkey Wrench Records label's website, presumably intended for manager Kelly Curtis. Either way they ripped and uploaded it so we should all give them a collective internet hug if you've got the time. The tune in question is called "Better Days" and is rumored to be a b-side from the recording of Riot Act.  Either way it sounds really good, enjoy.

Also is that accordion? Good times.

Music Video Of The Day: Peggy Sue - Watchman

Gonna try out a new bit here and see if it sticks. A pretty simple Music Video Of The Day that just includes music with an accompanying video whether it's live, fan made, or the standard music video variety. Don't worry, we'll still post major videos as they are released, we'll save this format for things a bit more under the radar. Any ideas/suggestions please send em in.

Now that we're out of the italicized text let's get down to business. Today we will be looking at Peggy Sue, another folk rock export from the UK somewhat in the vein of Mumford And Sons filtered through Fiona Apple. The acoustic based trio consists of Katy Young and Rosa Slade weaving their vocals together while drummer Olly Bruce holds down the beat. Add some guitars, accordion, strings, and biting lyrics and you've got the Peggy Sue sound.

The stop motion heavy animation below is the first official video for the track "Watchman" off of Fossils And Other Phantoms, the band's new album which was just released in the states last week. Of course that can only mean one thing: tour dates!  Starting tonight in Washington DC, Peggy Sue will play thirteen shows in North America before heading back across the pond. Dates are available after the jump.

If you want to hear more from Peggy Sue, Fossils and Other Phantoms is currently streaming on MSN (#22 on "More Listening Parties"), or just head over to their official site.
