The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson

Band Of Horses Bring Compliments To Ferguson

Fresh off of Pearl Jam tour, Band Of Horses paid a visit to the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson last night where they performed "Compliments" off their new album Infinite Arms. Personally I prefer their Letterman performance of "Laredo" but that's only because I haven't been able to get that song out of my head for the last month. Ben Bridwell and company are currently making their way up the coast eventually ending with a Sasquatch appearance on Monday.

For those in the Bay Area that are staying in town for the holiday weekend, Band of Horses will be appearing at Amoeba tomorrow afternoon before their sold out show at The Independent.

The Hold Steady Have Rock And Roll Problems On Ferguson

Craig Finn, and his totally unnecessary third guitar, brought the rest of The Hold Steady along for a performance of "Rock and Roll Problems" on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. A fine energetic performance of a song I can't really learn to love. Oh Cupid, you curious curious bastard.

The band has a ridiculous amount of shows coming up so you can catch them pretty much wherever including an appearance at Sasquatch next weekend. It also appears that the boys are a reasonably safe bet to be joining in on the fun at Outside Lands based on their current itinerary.  Full dates are listed after the jump, tickets available from the usual suspects.   [via the audio perv]

Wilco Bring Deeper Down To Ferguson

Last night Wilco visited The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and while there are no visible robot sidekicks in the video below, you still get some of that great Ferguson charm in the band intro. Tweedy and company went with a mellow Deeper Down performance after being declared the greatest rock band working today.

In other Wilco related news, there have been a few artist additions in recent days to the band's Solid Sound Festival. Joining in on the northeaster fun will be Avi Buffalo, Vetiver, Sir Richard Bishop, Mountain Man, Brenda, The Books, and Deep Blue Organ Trio. The Solid Sound Festival will take place August 13-15 at MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA.  Ticketing details and more information can be found at the festival's website.   [via the audio perv]

Local Natives Bring Airplanes To Ferguson, Stream World Cafe Live

We've made mention of Silverlake's own Local Natives several times before, mostly just as an excuse to gush over our crush. Last night's episode of The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson saw the band's late night debut with a killer version of Airplanes, granted it was taped a few weeks ago. That is relevant because the band is actually on the other coast right now where they performed for World Cafe Live earlier today. Unfortunately I wasn't able to give you a heads up on that, but fear not restless masses, the entire set is now available to stream below.

Local Natives are currently on tour and will be so throughout the rest of the month. Tickets are still available for many shows through Ticketmaster.

Craig Ferguson Welcomes Geoff Peterson, Robot Sidekick

Here is the awesome opening monologue from last night's very special episode of The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.  The reason for the specialness, aside from Craig finally admitting how they get his audience, was the debut of the new robot sidekick Geoff Peterson.

You may remember this story from a while back, Mythbusters Grant Imahara offered to build a sidekick if Ferguson could get him 100,000 twitter followers.  Thankfully for the world, Ferguson was indeed able to get the followers and in turn Imahara did indeed build a robot, which has since been named Geoff Peterson, because what else would you possibly name a robot sidekick.

The monolgue above is really funny and formally introduces Geoff Peterson so you should check it out, but for those that need immediate gratification here he is in all his robotic mohawked glory.  [via warming glow]

Craig Ferguson Is Getting A Robot Sidekick

Well this is all sorts of awesome.  Grossly underrated late night host Craig Ferguson has no sidekick, unless you count his accent.  Grant Imahara of the television show Mythbusters is a bio robot builder, so he sought out to get them wrongs corrected by offering to build Ferguson his very own robot sidekick.  The asking price?  100,000 Twitter followers.  Awesome.

@CraigyFerg I hear you are looking for a robot sidekick. I think I can help... for a price: get me 100,000 followers. If you can!  [via twitter]

One thing I have learned in all my time on this planet is that if someone ever offers to build you a robot sidekick and they have the chops to do such a thing, you do whatever it is you can to make that happen.  Ferguson agrees with the philosophy and has since enlisted his army of Skeleton Robots and accomplished the task, thus we have the following tweet via CraigyFerg, complete with name.

The Skeleton Robots are at your door @grantimahara. Do not anger them. Commence the build of Geoff Peterson. (robot sidekick)

Obviously we will keep you updated on the awesome that ensues in Geoff Peterson's future.   [via the live feed]

Mumford And Sons Rock Ferguson, Announce Tour

It wasn't too long ago that Mumford and Sons appeared on Letterman to perform the track Little Lion Man.  Nice to know they aren't just into pimping that awesome song, they went with The Cave last Friday night for their visit to The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.

The band is currently rocking overseas but will return for a newly announced nationwide tour in May with most shows going on sale this weekend through Ticketmaster.   [via the audio perv]
