The Late Show with David Letterman

Chromeo Bring Night By Night To Letterman

Backed not only by a set of Chromette background vocalists but also a Chromette string section, Montreal funkateers Dave 1 and P-Thugg took to the stage for an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman last night. The party that is Chromeo performed their single "Night By Night" complete with awesome guitar solo and their standard issue leg stands. If you have yet to have the pleasure, as the man has been keeping you down for the last seven days, their latest full length record Business Casual was released last week and oozes the awesome. You can follow that Business Casual link to purchase at Amazon or you can still stream the album thanks to NPR right over here.

Jukebox The Ghost Bring Schizophrenia To Letterman

The three piece Washington DC based Jukebox The Ghost made their national television debut last night on The Late Show With David Letterman where they played a new song "Schizophrenia". The piano based track will serve as the opener on the band's upcoming release Everything Under The Sun which hits stores September 7th. For those that can't get the hook out of their head, the album version of the tune is currently streaming on the band's myspace page as well as their hefty upcoming tour schedule which hits the west coast at the end of September and even includes a few Best Buy gigs. Tickets for most of the upcoming dates are available through Ticketmaster.  [via the audio perv]

The New Pornographers Do Sweet Talk, Sweet Talk On Letterman

The stage over at the Late Show with David Letterman was pretty crowded last night as the various Canadians that make up The New Pornographers were on hand for a performance of "Sweet Talk, Sweet Talk". Unfortunately we don't get any fancy karate stuff but there sure is plenty of hand-clapping. As Letterman succinctly tells the "supergroup" after the performance, "Very cool."

For more of Carl Newman, Dan Bejar, Neko Case and company you can check out their recent concert at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. thanks to the fine folks over at NPR. I've included the stream after the jump for 90 minutes of indie pop goodness. Enjoy. [via the audio perv]

Trombone Shorty & Orleans Ave Bring One Night Only To Letterman

Look who's making the rounds, none other than ninja Troy Andrews bringing the Trombone Shorty & Orleans Ave type of funk on down to The Late Show with David Letterman. The band performed "One Night Only" off of their latest album Backatown, which as would be expected features a pretty ridiculous horn section in the middle. Andrews can currently be seen appearing, as well as playing some music, on the HBO show Treme.   [via the audio perv]

Deer Tick Bring Baltimore Blues No. 1 To Letterman

Last night Deer Tick made a stop by the Late Show with David Letterman where they went back a few albums for the tune "Baltimore Blues No. 1" off of 2008's War Elephant.  This is a particularly interesting choice considering they just released an awesome new album The Black Dirt Sessions that came out just two weeks ago. No complaints here, it all sounds good to me.

The band's summer calendar includes an appearance at Lollapalooza, full dates are listed after the jump.  [via the audio perv]

John Prine Brings Yim Yames And All The Best To Letterman

Take note, this isn't your standard Letterman performance. The legendary John Prine has a tribute album coming out next month called Broken Hearts & Dirty Windows: The Music of John Prine that features the songwriter collaborating with some killer mondern artists like Justin Vernon, The Avett Brothers, Conor Oberst, and, as evidenced here, Yim Yames of My Morning Jacket who adds support to the Prine classic "All The Best". Just a fantastic duet, their voices go together like peanut butter and jelly, or acid and light shows.  Either way prettay prettay awesome.

Prine also just released the live pseudo greatest hits album In Person & On Stage this week. Broken Hearts & Dirty Windows will be released on June 22nd.   [via the audio perv]

The Black Keys Tighten Up On Letterman

It's finally that time where we get SHA favorites The Black Keys on the late night promotional tour. Last night the stop was at The Late Show with David Letterman where Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney performed the Danger Mouse produced "Tighten Up" off of their awesome new album Brothers.  The duo certainly went with the ridiculously good looking approach as they rattle off a near album version of the tune. Amazingly they managed to avoid a fist fight this time around, good times.  [via the audio perv]

Band Of Horses Bring Laredo To Letterman

The new Band of Horses album Infinite Arms was officially released on Tuesday, and while the band has been busy with those Pearl Jam fellas they still made time for a visit to The Late Show with David Letterman. The song selection was especially pleasing as they played the killer track "Laredo" off of their even killerer new album.  Yes killerer, that's Danza for super awesome. If you still haven't checked out Infinite Arms you can get a free preview as the band is still streaming the album on their official site, then after you fall in love you can offer your support in the form of an album purchase.  Partay.   [via the audio perv]

The National Are Afraid Of Everyone But Sufjan Stevens On Letterman

The National certainly don't seem to be skimping on their promotional duties. Just a couple days after releasing their insanely great new album High Violet, and the subsequent Berninger heavy music video for Bloodbuzz Ohio, the band made a pit stop over at The Late Show with David Letterman where they performed the track Afraid Of Everyone. Always ones for authenticity, the band brought their friend Sufjan Stevens along to replicate his backup vocals from the album version. The tune itself is another nice brooding song that builds into a frenetic climax, or as other people call it "every National song ever".   [via the audio perv]

MGMT Rock Brian Eno And Do A Webcast Concert For Letterman

Last night MGMT appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman to perform Brian Eno off of their new album Congratulations.  As we had previously mentioned, after their performance the band also appeared on the Live On Letterman series for a 50 minute mini-concert that features some oldies mixed in with the new tunes.  Unfortunately the capes only made it for the televised performance.  You can check out all the MGMT goodness below.  [via the audio perv]
