Bonnaroo Announces Comedy Lineup, Coco And Aziz Ansari

I know I just made mention of Conan O'Brien's tour including a stop at Bonnaroo, but I figured I might as well fill you in on the rest as well.  Along with a regular performance O'Brien will also be the MC for the What Stage on Friday and Saturday.  Joining Team Coco in the comedy tent this year will be the incredibly awesome Aziz Ansari, Doug Benson, as well as Jeffrey Ross roasting Bonnaroo.  While I wasn't officially given the spot I requested for this year, I may or may not be telling jokes by the fountain everyday.  I'll be the one wearing the Jay Leno outfit.  Bam!

The full comedy lineup is below. Tickets for the festival are still available at the Bonnaroo website.

Conan O’Brien
Margaret Cho
Aziz Ansari
Jeffrey Ross Roasts Bonnaroo
Greg Giraldo
Bo Burnham
Doug Benson
Nick Kroll
Paul Scheer
Rob Huebel

Smells Like Teen Amateur Figure Skating Spirit

I don't know about you but I've been waiting nearly 20 years for someone to do a figure skating routine set to Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit.  I'm sad Scott Williams didn't win the gold at the Olympics with this performance but apparently he's just an amateur, so that explains it.  Clearly if he was allowed in he would have won gold.  Just check out the barrel rolls at the 3:50 mark.

Also killer flannel headband combo.  [via aziz is bored]

Watch The National Debut Terrible Love On Fallon

I swear this isn't secretly the location of the Jimmy Fallon fan club headquarters, but once again we go back to the well of awesome for last night's musical guest The National.  The band's upcoming album High Violet won't be released until May 11th but that didn't stop Matt Berninger and company from debuting the opening track Terrible Love.

The song is pretty much exactly what one might expect from a new song from the band.  Moody intro that slowly builds into their standard frenetic organized guitar based chaos while lamenting "It takes an ocean not to break."  One thing for sure, it's officially time to increase your excitement level for High Violet.

As if the video wasn't proof enough, the band puts on a pretty great live show.   You can check them out at one of their many upcoming tourdates which include stops at Sasquatch! as well as Bonnaroo.  Tickets for most shows are available through Ticketmaster right here.  Dates are listed after the jump.   [via the audio perv]

Neon Indian Release Sleep Paralysist For Free

The folks over at Green Label Sound have just released a brand new Neon Indian song called Sleep Paralysist.  Adding to the awesome is the fact that Grizzly Bear's Chris Taylor helped produce the track.  Hopefully the tune leads us to another late night appearance

If you are interested in all things Neon Indian you can also check out this explanation of the tune and release from the Neon Indian, Alan Polomo.   [via green label sound]

Watch Blitzen Trapper Rock Alabama On We Have Signal

I just recently discovered the awesome We Have Signal show.  Essentially it's just one of those fancy public access shows that feature different bands playing some music, sort of like the Alabama version of Austin City Limits.  I'll let them give you the specifics.

We Have Signal is APT’s new live episodic music program filmed exclusively at the BottleTree Café in Birmingham, AL. The series features new and innovative bands from around the state, the country and even the world. A new episode of We Have Signal airs weekly at 10PM on Thursday nights, followed by encore presentation of the previous week’s episode at 10:30. Each week’s new episode also airs at 11PM on Sunday evening.

What's nice about the We Have Signal shows is that they are shot beautifully and feature a lot of bands I'm into, which leads us to Blitzen Trapper.  Here the band plays the hits, make bad jokes, and play some new tunes.  Enjoy the awesome.

Blitzen Trapper doesn't have much of a tour schedule coming up aside from a few gigs on the other side of the pond, but they will be appearing at both Bonnaroo and High Sierra this summer.   [via back in 15 minutes]

The Allman Brothers Bring The Whipping Post To Fallon

Continuing his reign as the king of awesome late night show musical guests, Jimmy Fallon had the legendary Allman Brothers Band in last night for a visit.  The band ripped the snot out of The Whipping Post as per usual.  Personally I'm not the biggest Warren Haynes fan but I could watch Derek Trucks play guitar for hours.  I even have done such a thing.

The Allman Brothers start up their usual New York shenanigans March 11th at the United Palace Theatre.  The stupid Beacon allowed for a scheduling conflict with Cirque du Soleil or some crap.  Estupido.  Either way you can catch the magic live in person via Ticketmaster or live over the internet as Moogis will once again be streaming all of the shows.  Awesometown.   [via the audio perv]

Broken Bells Take The High Road To Letterman

Unfortunately Broken Bells visit to The Late Show with David Letterman didn't feature their cover of Crimson and Clover, but we did get some nice footage of the band doing its thing.  To noone's surprise the band performed their single The High Road, which makes sense considering that is the one with a video for now.  As one might expect they sounded great.

If you like what you heard from the Letterman performance or even back when the free stream was still alive and kicking, the debut Broken Bells LP is available now through all the normal channels.  Here's a link to amazon if you are into that kind of thing, the mp3 download of the album is only 4.99   [via the audio perv]

High Sierra Lineup Additions, There's An Act For That

The High Sierra Music Festival announced their initial lineup shortly after the much publicized iPad announcement.  You may remember the clever little iPad parody video they used for that announcement.  Well it seems like the people with High Sierra are really getting a kick out of it because they essentially used the same bit for their first batch of lineup additions.  There's an act for that!

The latest additions were teased last Friday with a youtube clip of Willie Nelson and Ray Charles doing Georgia On My Mind.  Fitting then that Widespread Panic and The Black Crowes lead the list of additions.

Widespread Panic
The Black Crowes
Lotus
Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros
The Mother Hips
Jerry Joseph & The Jackmormons
The Radiators
The Pimps of Joytime
Truth & Salvage Co.
Coryell, Auger, Sample Trio
New Fangled Wasteland
Orgone
Chris Chandler & Paul Benoit
Living Folklore

These bands will be joining Super Hella Awesome favorites The Avett Brothers, Dr. Dog, The Slip, Surprise Me Mr Davis and many more.  For the complete lineup visit the official site.
